Veterans Sailing is a fully funded, volunteer-powered initiative by Ocean Blue Leaders, supporting the wellbeing of veterans, including suicide prevention.
It’s a place to reconnect with nature, with purpose, and with people who understand the journey…and, you don’t have to be a veteran to come sail with us!
Veterans Sailing civilians and veterans together on the water on the Gold Coast – every Tuesday at Southport Yacht Club Marina. It’s free to take part but a small donation is appreciated, run by volunteers (many of them veterans themselves), and built on one simple idea: connection heals.
For many veterans, the transition to civilian life can mean losing the things that mattered most – the team, the shared mission, the sense of being part of something bigger. Veterans Sailing is built to give some of that back.
Come sail on the water and support veterans – no experience, no pressure. Just a day out and a warm welcome aboard. Multiple opportunities to choose from.
Bring a team aboard with Ocean Blue Leaders – a leadership experience on the water that contributes to funding our Veterans Sailing initiative.

Everybody. There’s no experience needed. Not sure if it’s a fit? It probably is – just get in touch.
For veterans, it’s fully funded – thanks to volunteers, donors, and the Ocean Blue Leaders corporate program. For everyone else, we have a tiered membership program to suit every budget.
None at all. Mentors and volunteers show new crew the ropes. All it takes is a willingness to hop aboard.
Absolutely. Land-based support is just as valuable – admin, set-up, fundraising, and spreading the word.
Yes – that’s what Ocean Blue Leaders is for. Choose “Corporate / Team Building” in the form for the half-day and full-day options.
